2) Emma Watts, who hired me a bunch of times as a feature writer when she was a young exec and was terrifying even then, called me in to do QUEEN & COUNTRY. "You know this, right?" I did and I turned her down.

3) I talked about how awesome it was for an hour and then said: "I am not going to be the guy who fucks up QUEEN & COUNTRY."

4) A week later she hits me up again, and I email her back and write "Just make sure whoever you hire has watched SANDBAGGERS"

She emails me back: "Rucka says that show is the spine of Q&C, now get your nerd ass in my office and make this movie."

5) it is one of the two best feature/pilot scripts I've ever written, it will never get made because it's in turnaround hell, I got fired off it for fighting some truly shit notes, DESPITE THAT they've been trying to shoot my draft for 17 years. And I don't regret a moment of it.

6) All that to say, watch SANDBAGGERS, a spy show so accurate there's an excellent chance British Intelligence murdered the showrunner to keep him from blowing any more secrets, and no, that's not a bit.
