My worst memory of Southern Charm was when I invited my spiritual adviser from Florida who served 20 years in prison bc of a drug crime when he was only 19. I was so happy to finally use the show as a platform to discuss our racially unjust drugs laws. Bravo cut the scene.

There was one really good exchange. I asked him why he wasn’t bitter that the govt took his best years and I’ll never forget his answer. “Because, I pray everyday with all my heart.” And I dumbly replied, “to God?” He just smiled and said “of course, to God.” And Bravo cut it.
