Hello everyone, I’m at the NSW art gallery & I’m going to do a thread of some of the art I saw today!
I thought about @YvesRees here! A stunning painting! & wonderful grappling with big ideas. Also pink.
This was incredible. Beyond incredible. Divine, you might even say. Marikit Santiago is very talented.
This one is for @femmocollective , we are going to live together in this pink house. Lucy O’Doherty.
This painting gave me goosebumps. This style of painting recalled to me Albert Namajitra’s landscapes. Hubert Pareroultja.
I thought of @MsFriedmann here—look at this fire. John R Walker.
This triptych is really expansive & detailed & I thought of @wtb_Michael... details of birds to come. Julianne Ross Allcorn.
More bird details for @wtb_Michael
Also thought of you, @MondayStory
I’ve always loved the story of the Seven Sisters. In chinese culture we have a seven sisters story too. This painting by Nyunmiti Burton.
I love this small watercolour by Gino Palmieri, it makes me think of @brekfast_
A lovely self portrait by Tsering Hannaford. Anything that references Artemsia Gentileschi floats my boat.
Yoshio Honjo paints @adamliaw ! I love this painting so much. The energy in the piece, the colour, the sumi ink...

Super powerful painting by Tianli Zu of Tim Flannery. I love how her tender gaze is turned onto Tim who is in turn looking up at a lelo forest as if submerged.
This was amazing to behold in person. @meynewyatt self portrait.
This small self portrait by Yuri Shimmyo is my absolute favourite painting of today. Right down to the carnation milk tins on the shelf.

Thanks for coming to the art gallery with me today! Pls support the art of Aboriginal & Torres Straits Islanders, POC, women!! Buy their art, spread the word. Have a lovely day.
