Took a stab at doing one of those maps for the Duchy Seat of Salver for @JellyMuppet's Best Left Buried. I got to write the setting stuff for it, which has some interesting blends of Turkish/Egyptian/Mongolian/Gujarat stuff in it.

I sort of, due to geography, lean on them being more culturally related to Norui across the sea, as Keene/Roche/Ilym are all a bit far and separated from Salver. Salver is not as blatantly colonized as Norui in its politics, but it is a fallen power starting to recover.

I like the idea of the Marauders in Salver being the true heirs of the nation, criminalized; like Eomer and his host in Rohan. I also like the idea of Salver's rival city being a monster-parade mega-dungeon; loud, gaudy, overstimulating; the opposite of Salveri culture.

I also like to imply that this is the reason Salveri culture is quiet and insular. Betrayals over who deserves the throne, it goes to the most craven to the Wizard; and the rival power in the nation is a city-state of monsters born from the soul; which any Salveri could join to.

Anti-canonical and all that, but that was my thought process and it was fun to make that little image.
