Why people should learn that fandom is a place where we mostly have fun with characters and why we should all be respectful
A MOTHERFUCKING THREAD

Ok let's start with a beautiful example: Chris Redfield
Some moots headcanon him as gay, I think he's bi (because self projection am I right) an irl thinks he's straight, another thinks he's ace and yet another moot thinks he's pan
And y'know what? They're all valid AF

Some people need to realize that others having a different headcanon as you doesn't make yours any less valid. Fandom is a place where most of us go to escape the shitty things going on irl and we just wanna have fun and make friends
And a big part of that is being respectful

The beautiful thing about characters is that they're that, characters. You can twist the narrative and take control and make it your own and have as much fun with it as you want. Make fics, art, animations.or even just enjoy the canon content.
Because things like this can and should coexist and if we all just vibed and respected each other there would be so much less drama.
Also this doesn't apply with you taking a lgbt character and changing their sexuality cause that's erasure and we don't do that shit around here.

Also if you're gonna try and make a thread and you start it off with "many lgbt ppl are gonna be mad and disagree" and you then have to specify "I'm not homophobic" them guess what buddy I think you are

Tl;dr: enjoy fandom, let others enjoy fandom and don't be a dick
