tips to lose more calories - a thread
disclaimer - i’m not saying that this will 100% work for each person but this is just random advice i’ve learnt from my ED
coffee and tea ! caffeine has been found to boost your metabolism from 3-11%. coffee, green tea and oolong tea helps the conversion of fat stored in your body into free fatty acids.
upping your intake slowly - as your metabolism has adapted to your current daily intake, upping a drastic amount of calories even below your TDEE can make you gain. to prevent this you can up your intake between 20-100 cals daily.
eat prebiotics - they’re certain types of food such as onion, garlic, apples etc. or supplements. they promote friendly bacteria in the gut, help with certain digestive problems, improve metabolic health.
eat probiotics - items such as kimchi, miso, pickles (unpasteurized) etc. also supplements. probiotics are commonly beneficial bacteria that help with digestive health. probiotics can help your gut digest less calories too.
drink more water - i know, it sounds stupid but drinking water can boost your metabolism by 24-30% for 60-90mins.
invest in one of these bad boys if ur rich - a myzone belt which records the calories you burn wayyy more accurately than fitness watches, it’s 99.4% accurate. price ranges from £50 to £130 depending on the seller.
drink less diet/zero sodas - studies show that because of the very low calorie amount and certain artificial sweeteners it causes excess insulin produce, raise blood sugar level when eating carbs after drinking, causes confusion in your body and ends up slowing your metabolism.
