So I watched Oloture today (A trending movie on Netflix). I’ve been really anticipating because I recently started to open my heart to nollywood movies. It started well and was filled with suspense ( Basically conflicts and red herrings). *A thread*
I was initially so pissed at the end as I looked forward to an expected climax as usual but I got something different. Something that opened my mind to reality. In most movies you expect the cliche ‘happily ever after’ or happy ending which is very fictional and far from the norm
Several young girls out there who are trying so hard to adjust to what life throws at them and make ends meet are being brutally abused and exploited all in the name of ‘a better life ahead’ in the cover of sex trafficking and other societal ills.
Hope we get the memo even in satires and motion pictures.
