Donald Trump is infected with the virus behind a global pandemic, a fate we would wish on one.

Donald Trump has worsened the impact of that virus, and taken other actions that have severe costs in quality of life, livelihood, and the very lives of many marginalized communities.
Both of these things are true at once. Do not let your rush for collective solidarity cause you to rush, shame, or minimize the grief and anger of those who have been harmed by him.
His illness in no way erases what he has done for others, and it is not my place to tell others how to relate to what is happening with his health now, or what may happen in the future.

Nor is it yours.
If the President dies before leaving office, and I am not hoping that he does, many people will feel more relief than grief, and those feelings are valid based on the continual pattern of abuse that this President has held millions of people in.
