After Lightfoot defended a ban on protest near her home, this reporter did some digging within the files of the Chicago Police Department through use of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act

Lori's claims are only partially true

The Chicago Police responded today to my request for files showing threats to Lori Lightfoot from the date of her election to the current date.

What the files show are mostly CPD documentation of protected speech that Lori doesn't like under Illinois electronic harassment laws

The files also show that Lori and/or her staff, and possibly aldermanic offices using the Illinois telephone threats law to document speech that falls into what may be considered a "grey area".

The files consistently show that Lori, her CPD protective detail, the Area 5 Detective Division under the Bureau of Detectives, and CPD unit "606" keeping CPIC (joint fusion center) informed on each case

CPD CPIC is under the command of the CPD Deployment Operations Center.

Unit 606 is made up of CPD's Central Investigations, Fugitive Apprehension, FBI-Violent Crimes Task Force, and Major Auto Theft units

The entire file consists of 70 pages of Original Case Incident Reports with different dates, and an extra 15 pages of Arrest Reports that show the arrests of 5 people for "Residential Picketing" on 22 August, 2020.

Two of the case reports had nothing to do in any way with Lori's safety. 1 was for a hit and run involving damage to a CPD squad car, and the other was a report of injury to a P.O. from an insect bite/sting while on patrol
