Do you value your internet privacy?

The government is trying to pass the "Earn IT act" which would essentially provide a backdoor to all encrypted data & make hosting platforms responsible for the content posted

All of this under the guise of protecting children

Currently websites are protected from being sued for content posted by users

This would remove that protection unless the site owners put back doors in place

Service providers (like VPN) liable for your encrypted usage if they do not comply to exposing your data

Imagine free expression being gone because Congress demands that newspapers cover certain stories?

Essentially the content would be subject to review by the federal government

The bill would also create an advisory commission on Internet best practices led by the feds

The premise to protect children from the sharing and distribution of child pornography is an honorable one, which I agree with

Unfortunately, like the Patriot act, there are too many loopholes that can be used to finally crack those iPhone messages, and make your VPN visible
