I decided to diversify income and invest in shares for the first time in my life. My experience.

Me thinking of how to multiply my income seeing how Corona has affected people& #39;s job and businesses. So I spoke to a friend that I was interested in trading foreign stock. I wanted to own shares of major tech companies like Amazon and Apple.
That was how my friend told me about Bamboo App. A Nigerian App that allows you trade foreign stock on the NYSE right here in Nigeria.
That was how I counted money and deposited it in the Bamboo App. I wanted to play in the big league.
I had never traded stock before. I didn& #39;t know anything about it but I was determined to learn. So I started reading investment websites and motley fool.
I sha invested in Amazon because no be only Jeff Bezos go enjoy that Amazon money. I also invested in some unknown businesses based on & #39;expert& #39; recommendations.
I even took some of my friends to jollificate in preparation for my cashing out because who chop alone...
I opened my Bamboo App one morning and I couldn& #39;t understand what I was looking at. What is going on here?
Is this my portfolio or did I login into another person& #39;s account? Abi should I restart my phone ni? What is all these red doing here? I& #39;m not understanding.
This was me heading to my friend& #39;s house early momo.
Me at home thinking of what to do as my friend sef no get money. Na Officer kill and go give am transport fare
My face when the Customer Care agent started speaking nonsense Oyinbo. Asking me questions they didn& #39;t ask me when they were collecting my money.
Me begging the Customer agent to give me my money back. I don& #39;t want to do again.
Me when the Customer Care agent couldn& #39;t help me.
At that moment, an idea dropped in my head. What if I sell those non performing shares from those unknown companies and reinvest in more bankable companies like Apple, Facebook and Co.
Me listening to my inner mind telling me to put more money in something that I don& #39;t understand.
So I started studying again. I started reading notable investors like Warren Buffet. I sold the shares of the unknown companies and bought the shares of major tech companies that I like and understood their business model.
Then I sat down and told myself some truth. Stock trading is not Yahoo Yahoo or MMM. Amazon shares sold for $134 in 2010 is now worth over $3,000 per shares. It took them 10 years to grow like that. Buy and trade shares with the future in mind.
My mindset about stock trading has changed. Even though the market hasn& #39;t stabilized fully due to the pandemic and other factors. The future is looking good.
Bamboo, Trove, Chaka are Nigerian Apps are stock trading Apps that allows you trade US stocks. Your money is safe and secure and they aren& #39;t money doubling platforms. Don& #39;t use it if you are looking to make quick money. Shares no be Yahoo or MMM.
Trade responsibly. Buy shares of companies you like and believe in. Study their business models and also read from investment websites and subscribe to motley fool if you can. Also look at the shares that top investors are investing in and why?
P.S. This isn& #39;t a paid advert and it is mostly fiction.
