RMG may now move pollution-limiting equipment from General Iron to 11600 S. Burley Ave. in anticipation of final approval.

This does NOT clear the East Side facility to begin operating. RMG has not yet applied for the second permit required to do so, the health department said.
You may notice I am not explicitly referring to this as General Iron's "move" to the East Side. Mayor Lori Lightfoot said this week this is an inaccurate descriptor; RMG agreed.

Environmental activists rejected the mayor's distinction as "spinning the narrative."
In RMG's own words, the machinery "most critical" to General Iron's operations is planned to move to East Side.

Existing employees and management will be offered to keep their jobs at the East Side facility as well.
