For my crypto followers from the Simplecoin and prior era: I invite you to check out @blockstack. A novel "mining" algo. called "proof of transfer" (PoX) was recently deployed on the Stacks testnet. This is big because it allows new innovations on top of #bitcoin . 1/6
The #stx chain is tethered to the #bitcoin chain, which means that the world's most secure and resilient chain underpins everything that happens on Stacks. With #PoX on top of Bitcoin, you will be rewarded in $BTC. All you do is hold $STX and participate in the network. 2/6
It also adds robust smart contract functionality. Smart contracts on Stacks are written in #Clarity, a decidable Lisp-like language. Clarity is cool and you can try it today: locally, on the testnet, and using a REPL. You will be able to read $BTC and $STX state. 3/6
Give it a shot and you will find one of the best and most welcoming crypto communities you have seen in a long time. There is even a pioneering effort to create a new type of sustainable community based on "hodling"/saving: @JoinFreehold. 4/6
Want to build? Many resources and fellow developers are right there. You can also get funding through @StacksOrg. Everything that contributes to the mission of a user-owned internet is welcome. @Ryder_ID also recently received a grant from the Stacks Foundation. 5/6
I have not been this excited about a crypto project for a long time. If I piqued your interest, here are some links.
