TW: Sexual Assault

Let’s talk about allegations, false accusations, and Twitter culture, cause there’s a lot going into this
I have a friend, who out of respect for their privacy shall remain nameless, who was once the victim of a very violent series of rapes. In 2016, I was the victim of a much less violent rape where I was drugged at a party and woke up naked with someone on top of me.
Over the course of our friendship, we have discussed these experiences because they still affect us today.

During these protests, my friend ran into a man that they knew on the side of the street outside the JC next to a big bag filled with all his belongings.
My friend discovered that this man had been left there by a woman that he had been sleeping with, after said woman convinced him to pick up all of his belongings from his abusive ex’s house and offered for him to stay with her, before leaving him stranded at the JC for hours.
My friend and their partner offered for this man to stay in their spare room until he could get on his feet. They asked him to move out roughly 6 weeks later.
After this man had moved out of their home, the same woman who had left him at the JC contacted my friend and said this man assaulted her. My friend, taking this very seriously, immediately looked into it.
They did not find any conclusive information one way or another, but cut ties with this man. The woman then, for reasons unknown, decided that my friend was secretly dating this man, and that he was still living with them. This was categorically untrue.
I visited their home during this time, and can verify that this man did not live there, and that my friend and their partner were the only residents of their home. This woman then decided to attempt assaulting my friend on multiple occasions, calling them a rape apologist.
