white people acting as if someone calling us "racist" is a personal insult is, well, racist https://twitter.com/Jemandcats/status/1311755599663820801
it literally does not matter if it's true or not. even if we get called racist for, idk, sneezing, we can disagree, we can ask other people with clear anti-racist politics to help evaluate the situation, we can refuse to accept the interpretation - but.
but a) if we choose to disagree with the evaluation that we're being racist, that must be a very, VERY informed decision.

because 99.999% we are indeed being racist, and most of the other 0.001% is people reacting out of racism-induced PTSD that we can, and SHOULD accommodate.
and b) acting as if that accusation is a personal, targeted insult is a very oppressive thing to do.

telling someone that they're being racist serves several reasons, and none of them are to hurt their feelings.
that kind of criticism, directed at the person directly, is intended to get them to do better. it shows that the person addressing you believes that you CAN and WANT to not be racist.

and if that is the case, then you have to accept that you still can & will do racist things.
if you want to be anti-racist, you must learn to acknowledge the racism that you STILL REPRODUCE.

I started reflecting my own racism & aggressively retraining myself in like 2012 and I STILL DO RACIST THINGS that hurt people. we've been fucking brainwashed into white supremacy
