For #WorldFarmAnimalsDay I'm going to be sharing tons of photos of rescued farm animals while at work today. I will try to include the stories that I remember 😊
I'll start off with Ivy's story 😊 https://twitter.com/looksthatkale/status/1311374419697295360?s=19
Remi was rescued from a dairy farm. She was supposed to become a dairy cow when she was old enough but was born blind and suffered a lot of health issues due to malnutrition(which is common among dairy cows from being fed formula and being taken away from their mothers)
Becky was rescued from a research lab at a University. She LOVES people but has a really hard time fitting in with the rest of the pigs because she was so isolated. When she came here she had never walked in grass and didn't know what to do with mud.
Justin was destined to become a veal calf but because the farmer played favorites with his mother, she got to come to the sanctuary and keep her baby (this time). When he was born, she tried to hide him in hay because she had already had so many babies taken away.
Eddison was being raised for beef but got lucky and now spends his days with his cow friends grazing, taking dips in the pond and snoring in the sunshine. He was destined to be killed at only 1 year old(still a baby).
This very good boi is Irwin. He came from an intentional community and was going to be raised for meat. He was born the runt of the litter and so his mother rejected him. The community was planning to let nature take its course(let him starve) but a caring individual convinced
Them to surrender Irwin to them. They brought him to the sanctuary at only 3 weeks old and as you can see he is thriving.

Richard and Monty came from a small local farm. They were scared, sick, skinny and infested with internal and external parasites and still piglets.
