One thing I’ve realized in adulthood is some people legitimately do not have personalities or self worth behind anything but their careers. When you really sit down w/ them & take away the doctor, lawyer, athlete, engineer, businessman etc. title they are insecure and lost
All their energy up to this point has been devoted to developing themselves professionally so they are extremely stunted emotionally & in their personal lives due to never having to develop an identity outside of their career. The title has been enough to attract friends & lovers
It’s vv important to not be swayed by shiny titles. Who are they when they’re truly just w/ you, or friends or family. They might be a lawyer or big businessman, cool. But are they kind, selfless, loyal, etc. or do they just “I’m a doctor” their way out of accountability in life
