spoke with both LCPS superintendent Karen Trujillo and NMAA director Sally Marquez. Both say fall sports haven't gotten the go ahead from the Governor. Could come today.

Volleyball seems to be a sticking point, with rising cases and the fact it's an inside sport.
NMAA does have ability to move volleyball to the spring, which isn't ideal due to the club calendar. But the NMAA spring calendar would start after January.
Comment from the Gov. office: I understand that the NMAA independently put forward fall schedules, but any such activities are always dependent on the public health conditions in the state. ...
The state will continue to evaluate the data and make evidence-based decisions in the best interest of the health and safety of all New Mexicans, including student athletes, and the governor's office continues to be in communication with the NMAA on the issue."
