The magnificent house featured in #HouseOnHauntedHill was designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The horrors described in the film are reminiscent of the tragic real life ones that took place in another one of Lloyd Wright’s homes in 1914

William Castle was king of gimmicks, so when the skeleton emerges at the end of #houseonhauntedhill in the theatre a fake skeleton on a wire was suspended over the audience. It elicited more laughter than screams and folks threw candy & popcorn at it. #TCMParty
Shirley Jackson was inspired to write her book which #TheHaunting is based on, after reading about the Society for Psychic Research. About their research Jackson said:
