We have the grand jury tapes from Breonna Taylor’s case
In case it wasn’t already obvious, we also have a lot of the investigative file on Breonna Taylor’s case that was compiled by LMPD and sent to the Kentucky Attorney General’s office
We have a team that will be combing through the grand jurty tapes—which are, as promised, extensive. Will have more as soon as we’re able to parse through the hours of recordings that have just been released
At one point on the first day of grand jury deliberations, one of the prosecutors laments to the jurors that they can’t play all the body cam videos because of time. A juror responds loudly: “We got time!”
On the first day of grand jury deliberations, jurors asked about shots fired through the ceiling. One of the prosecutors says a bullet went up through the ceiling of the apartment above but was never recovered
In Detective Brett Hankison’s interview, he says he saw muzzle flashes inside the apartment, leading him to shoot where he thought the suspect was. But when investigators asked a SWAT commander if it was possible to see flashes through the blinds/windows he said no
On day two of grand jury tapes, a juror asks about what Detective Hankison does immediately after the incident. Prosecutor says after the incident Louisville provides a peer suport officer. Juror (correctly) points out that that doesn’t seem to have happened. Prosecutor moves on
