For the past 4+ years I've had the best job in the world with @Plaid_Cymru

On my last day, I wanted to share some of photos from behind the scenes

First up, @LSRPlaid about to go on @BBCr4today during the Brexit chaos and I ask her if she knew the lines:
The brilliant Fflur Arwel throwing some shade at @Adamprice before one of the 2019 GE debates

Can't remember why, but almost definitely deserved, probably some naff joke.
I think it might of been this Channel 4 debate on Climate Change.

Had to lobby hard to get us on, but was maybe the best one of the GE.

Tory and Brexit party ice sculptures were the best participants
A few weeks after @BenMLake won Ceredigion @davidcornock speaks to him as the youngest MP and Paul Flynn who was the oldest
We were in the Cabinet Office waiting to meet Gove and David Lidington on some Brexit legislative issue, but we'd missed lunch and were starving, so I spent most of the pre-meeting trying to organise someone to bring us a sandwich
A cross-party delegation to Brussels during the Brexit talks with @Ianblackford_MP and @vincecable

Fascinating meeting, but the thing I remember most is almost making the staff miss the train home as I couldn't decide on which pack of crisps I wanted in the Eurostar terminal
During the hung parliament we worked really closely with all parties. But of course, we had a soft spot for the SNP.

This was a rare meeting of @NicolaSturgeon and @Adamprice in London
This is where I spent most of my time the last four years, hiding from a camera, hoping I've briefed a politician correctly

This was in 2019 GE when @lewis_goodall came to Caernarfon for a piece on Welsh independence
Radio too...
This was standard fare for the General Election - a load of chips from any takeaway you could find near to the TV station/hotel

This was post-2019 ITV debate in Manchester with the legend @cjharris85
The prep for TV debates was intense. And almost all of it was never seen other than by 5-6 members of the team. Hours of practice for 10min worth of speaking time, but so important.

This was @HelenRhianwen & me making last minute tweaks before a debate in 2017 with @LeanneWood
I've made some pretty amazing friends. @RhunapIorwerth making a furry friend here.

And of course we lost Steffan a while back, who was a friend to so many of us having been staff before elected
Question Time was another long-prep event. I think we've got it down to a fine art by now, still doesn't stop your heart rate hitting 200 when you're watching the pre-rec.

This one was with @LeanneWood in Bristol (I think), just before they start the record.
What you forget is when the titles roll on TV, in the studio, the audience are still there. @LeanneWood is always last out as she talks to everyone who asked a question, whether she agreed with them or not.

This was a QT special with just Leanne in 2017 election
I've worked with a lot of journalists & the crazy abuse many of them get is totally non-sensical. They really aren't the enemy! I also never get press officers who hate journalists...

This is @bbclaurak speaking to @LSRPlaid after a meeting of Opposition Parties in Westminster
This picture just makes me laugh - @LSRPlaid ran across the grass at a Cambridge College (which you aren't allowed to do) before a Question Time appearance to psych herself up
Standing in the wings with paper copies of speeches in case the auto-cue goes down is also a pretty nerve wracking job.

Luckily all went well at @Adamprice first speech as leader.
The Westminster Group - they got told off after this picture for taking a photo here.
. @BenMLake is also a fan of the side-eye. I think we were trying to explain some procedure in the House here (hence the diagram on the whiteboard).
You spend a lot of time with a team of staff who become a bit like a second family. So you better get on!

This pic is very out of date, in fact it was @zainab_gulamali's leaving do. But all of the teams I have worked with have been brilliant in London, Cardiff and across Wales
For now, over and out!
