Reading some of the replies to this makes me think about how much basic knowledge about nutrition and physiology aren't talked about much because they aren't controversial. It can be easy to end up trying to invent the wheel without realizing it has been done.
Also, you probably shouldn't tell people to Google gluconeogenesis if you have never googled it yourself.
There are a lot of unknown and differences in interpretation of the evidence in relation to these things. But there are also a lot of facts about how stuff works that we do know about now but probably aren't obvious to most people.
I was a little confused that they didn't seem concerned about the potential loss of lean mass over several days of fasting and exercise. But it appears that they aren't aware that it is a potential issue or believe that the body makes all of its glucose from fat.
