Since when does being left mean you won't wish death on your enemies? Marx said morality is a manifestation of our social, historical & political context. Rousseau said when the people have nothing more to eat, they'll "eat the rich". It's not a joke, it's a warning.
Holding people up to a certain set of moralities that are impossible to meet is a conservative ideology, to keep the underclass underfoot. Leftist ideologies generally value more secular understandings of human nature, our flaws, and our vulnerabilities.
And if you really want to get into it, the fear of death and dying has been characterised by many left leaning philosophers as a vulnerability that has been exploited by institutions for thousands of years to oppress the people, & encourage us to embrace it as an inevitable end.
So I guess what I'm saying is that Leftism teaches us why it's important to make a distinction between the deaths of 208 thousand vulnerable people at the hands of negligent, corrosive institutions, and the hypothetical death of an old white rich racist rapist who runs them.
Conservatism wants us to think these are the same, that they deserve the same attention, respect and reverence. But they aren't, and they don't. If you don't wanna make fun, that's fine, but stop telling ppl not to joke about eating the rich when they're fucking starving.
