he wore his heart on his sleeve, LITERALLY, giving his love to so many people

bob portrayed bellamy as a broken soul who always put everyone else above him and never got anything in return, and never ASKED for anything either

he practically raised octavia himself since he was a child, and the idea of “selfishness” was NEVER in his dictionary. everything he did, bellamy did for clarke and octavia

he brought up the women in his life without bringing himself down, telling russel that clarke was spacekru’s leader in an attempt to regain clarke’s trust and his relationship with her

the only person he ever really let his guard down around was clarke, because he knew that she didn’t see him as a brother figure, or look up to him as a leader. she saw him as an equal, and reminded him that even though he had made horrible mistakes, he was still good.

he died because his character was barely allowed to exist beyond the role of bringing up women. when bellamy tried to find something that he personally believed in, AND ENDED UP BEING RIGHT ABOUT, he was killed by the girl he loved for it

hating him for poisoning octavia? if he hadn’t, clarke would have been executed. hate him for being involved in the massacre, and calling him weak minded and a sheep? he grew up without a father figure and projected his need for one onto shitty older guys who always let him down

he told “clarke” that 132 years later, he was still carrying the regret for being involved in Pike’s s3 massacre, and still saw the faces of the people he had killed in the mirror. he stopped riley from shooting roan because bellamy knew that war had made him a murderer +

and he never wanted anyone else to hate themselves for the blood on their hands the way he hated himself for what he had done. bellamy’s s4 redemption arc was so beautiful and he deserved so much better than the sad rover scene in the black rain

thank you @WildpipM for one of the best characters ever. bellamy blake meant so much to me, and was just as much the backbone of the 100 as clarke. ily
