In general, shaming a person who contracts a communicable disease is not ok.
It is wise to assume people, even people who engage in risky behavior, are doing their best.
And then step back.
Work with them to analyze: we’re they missing information?
What influenced their behavior?
What do they need to change their behavior in the future?
Who do we need to alert that they need screening?
What does the positive person need in terms of support & information to not communicate the disease to others?
And lastly, what do they need in order to ensure the best possible outcome for their physical & mental health as they face the disease.
What doesn’t help?
Shame & blame.
However, in this case, the President of the United States is positive
He had access to the best information in the world.
He intentionally lied to us.
Millions have listened to him and modeled their behavior in his.
As a result, 200,000 are dead & millions became ill.
In this case, shame, blame, and rage is completely and utterly warranted.
There is much blood on this man’s hands.
It’s in karma’s hands now.
