1. If you don't have a deep-seated fear & loathing of the State—if you trust it & its agents—you are like a sheep whose habituation to the presence of the shepherd ends with you being calmly led into the abattoir.

2. Grasping the coldness & inhumanity of that which W European monarchs first spawned in their struggles with each other is no easy task. Take it in. See the shadow it casts over everything, into everything; the way it has subordinated culture, art, meaning, to itself.
3. Understand how throughly it has twisted & remade your mental life, your manhood, your womanhood, your loves & hates, desires & dreams. We are now what the State has made of us; and that which it has made is a swarm of pitiful, obedient & trusting things.
4. The correct response is not to panic in the face of this fearful revelation. Once you are on this path, do not take that detour beloved of libertarians,the pansy illusion of seeking to limit & bind up an entity on which you are utterly, inescapably dependent.
5. If humanity does outlast the State & its hideous offspring, capitalism & secularity (no sure bet here), it will not be because we have returned or regressed. Even if the State were to disappear tomorrow, its scars would never heal & its mnemonic dwindling would last an age.
6. The only thing that defeats a monster is a more terrible monster. The State makes the terror which it replaced—medieval Church & monarchy—seem laughably quaint & gentle by comparison. What comes next must make the State itself seem positively cute.
7. We can only speculate as to its power; certainly it will extend itself over the last thing the State cannot reliably control, the final horizon of possibility against which the State is straining & in doing so, suffocating us in its death throes.
If you wanna know what that last horizon is, I'll probs have a definite answer for you in a decade or so. Now, time for me to visit the dream realm from which I harvest my futurist nightmare fuel, gn
