I've been playing guitar for the past 24 years

here are some of the important things I've learned so far

1) Recording yourself reveals your weaknesses. Be brave enough to find out what those are.

2) Having a good mentor can save you A LOT of time finding things out on your own
3) The most basic things are important. Get those together and you can improve faster

4) Ego can stop us from growing

5) Be careful of who you take advice from. Not everyone has your best interest in mind

6) Different musical styles & genres can teach you different things
7) Find a process that works for you. Music is a personal thing especially when it comes to practice. Experiment!
