Happy birthday to this genius album about the creeping depression and anxiety caused by overexposure in a tech-bubble, media-saturated world. https://twitter.com/stereogum/status/1312015378097278978
Thom Yorke is easily the most insightful rock lyricist of the last 30 years. OK Computer and Kid A combined talked about the consequences of our computer society that many people didn't even start thinking about until 2017 or so.
Also recall that Kid A has an entire track predicting that our society would completely ignore the climate crisis because of money interests. Low and behold, the pessimists were correct.
And the album Radiohead released in 2016 started by telling us that society is looking for a witch to burn. He was correct again.
If this doesn't speak to the last few years of our existence on this planet together, I don't know what does:

Burn the Witch
By: Radiohead
Those lyrics read like a narration of every single day on this horrible website.
The thing I find consistently about Thom Yorke's lyrics is I only really understand what he was talking about a few years later. He's always ahead of where I am in understanding what's happening in our society.
