So think through the issues:
1) Supreme Court nomination has to go on hold (though McConnell will try to continue). Barrett was exposed, needs to quarantine, as was much of Senate leadership working on her nomination. Can't hold in person hearings, hold qorum, much else.

2) Trump getting COVID throws into even sharper relief Trump and Republican war on mail in voting, campaign of voter suppression. It will be harder and more outrageous to discourage mail-in voting. Every Republican governor, AG, etc. should be hammered on this.

3) The right wing media ecosystem is going to meltdown because 7 months of Republican talking points on COVID-19 have evaporated. The gross, inconceivable irresponsibility of Trump's actions (esp on mask wearing) is impossible to ignore and will saturate media coverage.

3.5) The gross failures and irresponsibility of Trump and Republicans on testing, contact tracing, mask wearing will be thrown into sharper relief. People will watch the level of care Trump receives and compare it with the contempt they have shown Americans.

4) I am not going to get a goddamned thing done in the next month. This has huge implications.

5) This is likely going to cause support among independents to further hemmorage. This is a White House in total disarray, in complete crisis, a clear victim of its own gross irresponsibility and mismanagement over many months.

6) The politics of voting by mail, early voting, absentee voting has completely changed. Further Republican attempts to curtail early voting, restrict mail-in vote drop boxes, intimidate voters, and delegitimize mail in voting while Trump is sick will provoke even wider outrage.

What else jumps out at you?

7) There is zero political upside for Republicans. All but the most hard core MAGA-heads will think "Holy shit these COVID denying, masks wearing is tyranny lunatics have endangered us all."

8) Trump Admin and White House have shattered public trust on the Pandemic, endangering the health of their own supporters and all Americans. Trump traveled to campaign events, met with supporters, etc. knowing Hope Hicks had tested positive. No one will trust them.
