“The quality of the food on your plate, and the economic security of our farmers, depend on us upholding the highest standards of animal welfare. We will push for high animal welfare standards to be incorporated into international trade agreements”

Whose words, when?
Yup.

So a good question for the Conservatives would be, you wanted in 2015 to include animal welfare in EU trade agreements. In 2020 you don't want to include them in UK trade agreements now we've taken back control. Why have you changed your mind?
Will be quite ironic for the UK government to reject animal welfare rules because of wanting a US trade deal while US states are adopting animal welfare rules.

A radical idea, but the UK could try to be proactive about our trade policy?
