1962 War: Same Gandhian PM threw in the towel without allowing the IAF to launch a single strike on the Chinese. Instead of listening to his commanders he talked to goras who advised him not to use the IAF. In previous decade he refused to buy weapons while Pak was arming.

1965 War: Indian Army smashed its way to the outskirts of Lahore and Sialkot and stayed there for 5 months to Pakistan's acute embarrassment. Yet Shastri returned all captured areas in the hope of peace. Case of waging peace without settling the cause of war - Kashmir issue.

1971 War: After capturing 97,000 Pakistani soldiers, India let them go without settling Kashmir or trying them for war crimes. Pakis had killed 3 million Bengalis and raped 400,000. In contrast, Russians paraded German POWs through Moscow and sent them to Siberia where lakhs died

1999 Kargil War: After Indian Army dislodged Pak intruders from Kargil peaks and IAF killed hundreds of Pak Army soldiers in air strikes, FM Sartaj Aziz came running to Delhi, imploring India to stop air strikes. ABV ordered a ceasefire when Navy was about to blow up Karachi.

2019 Balakote strike: The IAF raid by 12 Mirage 2000 fighters deep in Pakistan, completely spooked the Pakistani military. For weeks, their air space was closed for civil aviation as Pakis had limited aviation fuel. Plus, they wanted their radars to be uncluttered.

At this point, when Pakis were panicking, India relaxed the pressure. IAF should have been allowed to intrude into enemy airspace regularly in order to keep the PAF on alert, expending Pakistan's limited aviation fuel. PAF aircraft should have been fired at.

Bottom line is India still has vestiges of Gandhigiri. It is a mental disease. Forgiving the enemy is a crime against one's own people. Tens of thousands of Indians have died because Nehru did not take back POK. Unless our leaders acquire killer instinct, India will bleed.
