Forest management rather than #climatechange will determine future provision of #ecosystemservices by #Mediterranean forests! One of the main results of our latest paper in #ecosystemservices journal @ecolandlab @MedForLab @fidbosc @ctforestal @UdL_RDI @CREAF_ecologia

No management scenario maximized the provision of all #ecosystemservices. For example, managing for #WoodEnergy production (promoting #bioeconomy targets) compromises the carbon stored in the forest, the amount of habitat for #biodiversity & the capacity to mitigate soil erosion.

Spatial trade-offs and synergies between #ecosystemservice provision were strongly determined by site productivity (image below shows correlations in #ecosystemservice provision by scenario)
