I rarely watch horror/spooky/scary movies. So in the interest of trying new things, I’ll be watching a different film of that type each night throughout October. Starting off day 1 with The Babadook!
Alright, The Babadook was great! Next up is some potential nightmare fuel via Insidious 😅
Insidious was good, and I absolutely *loved* Joseph Bishara’s score. Tonight’s pick? A John Carpenter classic: Halloween.
Wow! That was boring as shit! 👎👎
Ok. Let’s get spooky with a foray into found footage. 1999’s The Blair Witch Project.
Ok, I *really* enjoyed TBWP! Lots of creepiness, disorienting handheld camera work, and I was really drawn into their adventure. I’m going to up the gore factor tonight with House on Haunted Hill (1999) 😈
HoHH was just... silly lol. Who casted Chris Kattan?! It was great seeing a gory, borderline self-parodying uber-90s flick. Incredible stuff.
I’ve got some international films on the list. Up next is Train to Busan.
Wowowowow, Train to Busan was EXCELLENT. Incredible performances, super powerful story. Go watch it!
Meanwhile, I’ll be checking out the next film on my list: Halloween (2018). Compared to the OG, let’s hope for more gore and less bore!
WOOF. Definitely more violence and gore in the 2018 sequel. Very entertaining!
Going to try and up the silliness quotient tonight with 1988’s Waxwork.
That was a silly, sloppy, so-bad-it’s-good piece of cinema. High entertainment value lol.

Since I always need more Cillian Murphy in my life, I’ll be watching 28 Days Later this evening. Let’s see what Danny Boyle’s got in store for me!
Wow! I loved 28 Days Later. I loved the performances, and the film was intense from beginning to end (I even saw an alternate ending, which was a great).
Going to watch an all-time classic from Wes Craven tonight:
A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Ummm so I’ve been missing out. Elm Street was a blast! I’m cravin’ more Craven, so tonight I have Wes Craven’s New Nightmare on the docket.
I’d better not fall asleep! đŸ€đŸ˜…
DAMN. That was surprisingly good! I appreciated a more sinister Freddie than the original film.

Going back to an international pick tonight with Let the Right One In 🇾đŸ‡Ș

Oh.. and Go Atlanta!
#MixItUp #ForTheA
That was a damn good movie. Dark, compelling story, complex characters, and creepy as hell. Loved it!

Now let’s see what my boy Sam Neill is up to and check out Event Horizon.
Daaaang, space is scary! That was really great. Loved the cast (Jack Noseworthy is a terrific “that guy”), and vivisection is always horrifying...

A change of pace tonight with tonight’s feature, Martha Marcy May Marlene.
SHIT. That was a great movie. It was *beautifully* shot, and I loooved Elizabeth Olsen’s performance đŸ€©

Lucky for me, tonight’s feature also stars Elizabeth Olsen! It’s time for Silent House.
Uuuuuggggghhh that was fucked up and creepy and fucked up and well executed and fucked up and I have to go to bed đŸ˜«
Late night start tonight! Going to check out a sequel to a film I watched last week. Time for 28 Weeks Later. 🩠 đŸ§Ÿâ€â™‚ïž đŸ‘»
Damn. So many zombies lately. Films, #TWD , #TLOU2, and obvi the famed cocktail đŸčThe zombies in this were super scary. Fast-moving, quick infection, blood spewing... I missed Cillian Murphy, but loved Jeremy Renner. Great sequel.

Next up: Relic!
Relic was great! I found it to be a heartfelt and sincere interpretation of what dementia can do to a person and their family (something I personally fear a great deal).

Tonight I’ll check out The Blackcoat’s Daughter, starring Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka.
YES. That was excellent. Good old fashioned satanism in a beautifully shot film. Looooved it!

For those still following along...

Tonight’s film is another pretty recent release. Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, John Malkovich... I have high hopes for Bird Box.
Oh shiiiit, Trevante Rhodes! 🙌🙌🙌
I had high hopes... and they were exceeded! I found Bird Box suspenseful and touching, and the “creatures” were an unusual concept to me.

There’ve been some zombie/zombie-adjacent films on the list so far, and tonight I’ll be checking out another: 2017’s The Cured.
What an incredible way to tell a zombie story. Although a bit slowly paced IMO, The Cured was inventive and enjoyable.

I’m going to stay in #Ireland 🇼đŸ‡Ș this evening with a film that promises to be creepy as hell: In Fear (2013).
LOL yep! Creepy as hell. I definitely felt uneasy throughout the *entire* film. And the ending was ROUGH... đŸ˜©đŸ˜š

Tonight! I’m excited for tonight’s film because it includes one of my faaaves: @MelanieScrofano Going to check out 2019’s Ready or Not.
Now *that* was a fun movie. Suspense, gore, good music, plus a healthy does of humor. Really, really good! Oh, and, ya know, Samara Weaving 😉.

I don’t expect much humor from tonight’s feature, but my hopes for terror are high. Up next is The Descent.
Woof. Did not like The Descent! I found it tedious and contrived, and there was too much reliance on jump scares. Bummer 😕

I am back at it tonight, babyyyy. Let’s see what Rose Leslie and Harry Treadaway have in store for me in 2014’s Honeymoon.
