Y’all don’t hate me but I just finished streaming #blackpink the album and tbh I’m a little disappointed. Disclaimer I love these girls and of course will support them im strictly talking about the disc. and you’re free to disagree with me.

First off, half of the new songs are under 3 minutes long. While I understand sometimes it’s better to not add more, I’m getting a little tired of teddy never putting a third chorus which would also lengthen the track.

It’s getting really predictable at this rate and sometimes changing it up at the end of the song isn’t always the answer. You can make the end of the song impactful in ways other than that.

Also a lot of these songs seem more something for a rave than anything. They don’t focus on the girls and I feel like I wouldn’t want to listen to some of the tracks in my free time bc it doesn’t seem like music at this point. Though I’m mainly referring to pretty savage.

Love to hate me had a lot of potential but the negative chorus at the beginning doesn’t work well in this case. It sounds too different from the prechorus and it’s sad because other than that I love the rest of the song.

Crazy Over You is really all over the place tbh and it switches up genres a little too often. Bet You Wanna definitely has that western influence and is pretty solid again I just wish it was longer. Will say tho Rosé adlibs saved this song.

On the positive side, I think lovesick girls is a wonderful title track though I do think the instrumental is a little too loud during the chorus and tbh I wish they used a different hook but otherwise it’s great!! And over three minutes!!

You Never Know is probably my favorite from the album and actually sounds like a song. It’s also about time we got a slower Blackpink song. I do wish there was a bit more to the instrumental during the verses and I wish they added even more instruments to the last chorus.

Okay no one will probably read this thread but I’m happy I got my thoughts out!! Again this is just my opinion and I hope we get to see Blackpink again in like 6 months instead of a year. But seriously teddy’s stuff is getting weaker lately I’m a little worried :((
