Thought of the day. Consent in multidisciplinary team appointments. Are we consenting to be reviewed by all members of the team by just turning up? How about telehealth where members of the team can just "pop" in to your waiting call without you being informed in advance?
I wrote a whole thread on this but then twitter crapped out. But in summary, in an ideal world I believe...
a) patients attending MDT clinics should be told who is available and asked who they would like to see

b) if a patient needs to be reviewed without them requesting it they should be told the reasons the review is clinically indicated (not just "I thought we should have a chat")
c) the patient should be given some advance warning... especially relevant for telehealth! Don't just "pop" in to the space unannounced and unexpected!
