If you're tired of hearing about the same horror movies, and you want to see something new this october, here are 10 pretty unknown horror movies you might have to check out on spooky season:
DISCLAIMER: I'm not claiming to be the only person who knows about these movies. If you know one, some or all of them, then great! They're all amazing! but i'm sure some people might not know them :)
1. Creep (2015) — First of all, I'm gonna start with probably the most known movie on this list. Creep is a found footage horror movie which follows a cameraman who gets hired by a man who claims to be dying from cancer and wants him to film a video for his daughter.
But things start getting weirder and weirder the most time he spends with him. If you're a fan of unexpected but effective jumpscares, then you're going to love this movie.

2. Triangle (2009) — Triangle is a british-Australian which follows a single mother and a group of friends who go on a boating trip. When they are forced to abandon their ship, they board a derelict ocean liner, where they become convinced someone is stalking them.
Triangle is an underrated horror gem. Don't be fooled by its cheap  late 2000s posters, because the movie is in every way timeless. If you love films with unique premises and jaw-dropping twists, you need to watch this ASAP.

3. The Love Witch (2016) — The Love Witch is a horror/comedy movie which follows a modern-day witch who uses black magic to make men fall in love with her with disastrous results. This is a very artsy horror movie that pays tribute to the technicolor aesthetic of the 1970s.
This is a perfect movie to watch on spooky season if you don't want to get too scared, since this is more of a comedy horror than actual horror. It also has a stunning cinematography. So you might have to give it a watch!

4. The Loved Ones (2009) — The Loved Ones is an Australian film which follows a teenage boy who finds himself at the center of a female classmate's demented party after he rejects her offer to attend prom with her, so she gets revenge.

5. Lake Mungo (2008) - Lake Mungo is an Australian horror found footage film, which follows a family trying to come terms with the drowning of their daughter, after they're being haunted by her ghost. It follows a mockumentary style, using actors in place of interviewees.
Lake Mungo is a very depressing and scary film. I don't recommend it if you're dealing with grief. It truly is an overlooked horror masterpiece in the found footage genre that deserves a must watch if you love these movies!

6. Dumplings (2004) - Dumplings ( 餃子) is a chinese horror movie which follows a former gynecologist who performed abortions, and now dedicates to sell magical dumplings that she claims have youth-restoring powers.
Dumplings is a very disturbing film, and It's a must watch if you love cannibalism-themed horror movies! Without spoiling too much, I'll just say that if you watch it, don't do it while you're eating.

7. A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night (2014) - This film is considered to be the first Iranian vampire western movie! It follows the residents of a ghost town bad city who encounter a skateboarding female vampire who preys on men who disrespect women.
This is a very artsy film. Filmed in black and white and with little-to no-dialogue, it's truly not a movie for everybody. But it's a much watch if you love experimental cinema and also vampire films!

8. Train To Busan (2016) - Train To Busan (부산행) is a korean thriller film which follows a man and his little daughter who go on a train to the city of Busan when a zombie apocalypse breaks out in the country and threatens their safety and other passengers'.

Written By: Park Joo-Suk
9. Pontypool (2008) — Pontypool is a canadian horror film which follows a radio host who interprets the possible outbreak of a deadly zombie virus which infects the small Ontario town he is stationed in.
This is one of the most original zombie movies i've ever seen! The plot and the tone are very unique and so is the way the virus is spread. It's truly a must watch if you're a fan of the zombie genre! Very underrated.

10. Trick Or Treat  (1986) — Let's finish with a horror movie set in Halloween. Trick or Treat follows a teenage boy obsessed with heavy metal music that after listening to one of his hero's albums, he gets being posessed and starts killing people.
This movie is for you if you love slashers, metal and rock music or both! It's a social critic to that thought people had in the 80s that heavy metal groups were satanic and that rock music was "evil." It's such a fun movie to watch!
