I hope this isn't too political.

Dear @YouTube.

Both of the major parties are running ads that are not appropriate for injection into content that targets 3-to-6-year-olds.

Small children don't need to know how the sausage is made.
Yes, I can pay to have ads turned off but not everyone can afford that.

Besides, people who can afford to buy the ad-free service can also just afford to buy the videos directly from the content creators, who show no interest in brainwashing our kids.
Regardless of whom you support, or if you even support anyone, you stand the risk of walking into the living room and seeing your kids watching stuff that is VERY disturbing. It can be from your own affiliated party and it's still not right to show little kids this stuff.
I suspect this is an oversight. Either the creators aren't flagging their content as targeting kids or the advertisers aren't marking their hours-long brainwashing material as inappropriate for children.
That said, the market is the right way to solve this. If you are unable to police your content, parents will have to start policing their children. For most of us that just means "No @YouTube in the house".
An alternative would be to address it with features. If I could create a "small child" subaccount, like I can with @netflix, then you can much more easily police content for those accounts. e.g., make ads and content "opt-in" for small child accounts.
If that feature exists, then I guess the takeaway from this thread would be "make it easier for parents to locate".

Though I suspect the real takeaway is "", since I have no real platform.
