16) Mia Alvar ( @MiaAlvar)

17) Michi Trota ( @GeekMelange)

Michi is the first Filipino American Hugo award winner and former managing editor of Uncanny Magazine. They’re also the EIC of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.

Also I know this image isn’t a cover, but look at how badass they are.
Okay that’s all I have right now and if there’s anyone I didn’t think of, please let me know!

Also I know that I said no particular order but looking at it now I’m definitely biased towards YA and MG books. My bad 😅
Curating this list also made me realize how many writers I follow who are actually Filipino-Canadian and not Filipino-American. So if there’s anyone you think should be here but isn’t, it might be because they’re Canadian!
Last thing I want to add:

Five years ago, I truly thought I was an outlier for being a Filipino-American woman pursuing creative writing as a career. My brain would never have been able to comprehend having a list of almost 20 Filipino-American writers back then.
So to see it here right now, all laid out (and not even a full list of Filipino-descent writers and editors that I know of!!) makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I am so excited to see what we do in the future 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you to @turner_tasha for sharing this list with me!!! There are more books in the thread too. I will add them to this list as well! https://twitter.com/turner_tasha/status/1311890003098820609
Half Filipino characters!! Like me!!! I am so excited for this list!!! https://twitter.com/turner_tasha/status/1311890140789342209
I know Romance Class is mainly mainland Filipino authors, but this list is awesome if you’re looking for Filipino romance! https://twitter.com/turner_tasha/status/1311890300231708672
And last addition, a thread by @luckychan for those looking for SFF books by Filipino authors! https://twitter.com/luckychan/status/1274584432104607744
Here are two more! Can’t believe I forgot these! https://twitter.com/letsgocecilia/status/1312045125393018880
