Why I Love TodoMomo; a thread—

Todoroki chose Momo for the Calvary battle: Earlyroki made it quite clear that his best interest was not his classmates. But during the Sports Festival arc, Momo surprised him first being that she was one of those who was quick on her feet to avoid his ice attack during the race

It may, or may not be the case but this little clip of TodoMomo speaking before the calvary battle shows that he did in fact choose Momo first before Kami & Iida

YaoyoRising: Here we learn that Momo greatly looks up to Todoroki for his strength and overall abilities. Afterwards when Todoroki thanks her for getting their pass for the exam, Momo break down in tears of joy = how much impact Todoroki’s words mean to her +

The admiration she has for him is something I feel can turn into a mutual love between the two as Todoroki is also shown displaying some kind of admiration towards her.

Todoroki despite being an “Earlyroki” went out of his way to vote for Momo. During this time he didn’t consider any friends, but he acknowledged Momo’s ability to be a leader & potential

Final Exams: immediately after Todoroki puts his trust into Yaoyorozu by cooperating with her operation. For me, trust goes a long way in relationships.

Student Dorms: A small moment would be during the reveal of Todoroki’s room we can see Momo referring to him as “the most capable student”. She brushes over other talented students like Midoriya & Bakugou concluding that Todoroki is the most capable. Admiration thru the roof 100%

Momo trusts Todoroki. She openly admits she was willing to save Bakugou because of her trust in him +

Before the mission, we also see Todo & Kiri approaching Momo with their plan. I love the gentle way Todoroki speaks with Momo. It may be subtle, but when he tells of her of the plan he isn’t trying to pressure her instead he trusts her judgment and respects whatever she decides +

While waiting for her Todoroki says “no matter how much... it’s her choice” he respects her decision. The icing on the cake for me would have to be his expression when she arrives (it’s better in the manga than the anime) the look of relief mixed with surprise always gets me

Todoroki is Momo’s #1 supporter. When talking about him, he doesn’t say things lightly. Taking that into account, he goes out of his way to effectively explain why Momo is superior to Kendou despite Testseu^2’s praise +

Todoroki has shown to be paying close attention to Momo and her growth. Knowing firsthand of her being an excellent strategist and strong opponent.

They care for each other. More than once, we are shown Momo’s concern/worry for Todoroki:
- Stain Arc: After hearing of TodoDekuIida encountering Stain, Momo is shown to express how worried she was for them, especially Todoroki as she is seen looking at him

MHA: Two Heroes - when Todoroki sacrifices himself to stay behind with KiriBaku sending the others up to the top, Momo was the only one to shout out Todoroki’s name in concern. He further adds fuel to the fire when he reassures her: “I’ll be right behind you”

Provisional Licensing Exam: After finding out Todoroki didn’t pass she genuinely looks sad for him. She forgets about herself and directs her worry towards him.

Pro Hero Arc: Endeavor vs. Hood (High-End Nomu): While most of the students are watching the fight, we see Momo facing Shouto, clearly concerned about him. Then towards the end, she is seen with others carefully watching over him. Although small details, each meaningful & telling

we know Todoroki isn’t the best when showing his emotions, but he is improving greatly. A big mmnt at the JTA when he sees Momo’s defeat. Proving that he did pay attention to Momo he says “I hope she doesn’t lose heart” He clearly cares for her & only wishes for her success.

Not too sure if this would count since it’s just Todoroki being so caring in general, but it’s adorable how he offers a solution for her

Ennichi Festival: Todomomo gold. First Todoroki admits Momo looks quite beautiful in her yukata and offers to escort her around the festival +

Todoroki willingly tells her the surface of his family problems to which he thinks of himself of a burden and tries to run off. First of, it is implied here that Todoroki was comfortable enough to open up to her. It was on his own terms + (art belongs to @allythealienx )

the beautiful thing about this is how Momo responds: “But I am not someone else” Simple words with a heavy meaning. she includes the rest of the classmates, Momo reassures Todoroki that they (& herself) will be there for him thus opening up his heart more

Personalities: Todoroki and Momo can be looked at as opposites. The “opposites attract” loosely applies to these two. While Todoroki is stoic, Momo wears her heart on her sleeve. With Momo’s kindness she would be able to warm him up, giving him access to experience feelings & +

+ emotions he wasn’t able to have back in his childhood. Todoroki on the other hand already shown in the manga is Momo’s main pillar of support. Her greatest weakness is self confidence issues, with someone she views as strong as himself will help greatly in her development.

Their dense-ness: we all have to agree that their obliviousness to some things are peak comedy. We can all collectively agree how much we’d enjoy their journey to realizing their true feelings for one another (although everyone in class 1A knows)

Todoroki speaks to Momo the most. Considering this may not be the most solid evidence being as he does speak to others (girls). He is most comfortable to speak to Momo even to the point where he (flirts- lol) asks why she didn’t use her quirk instead for the disguises.

Todoroki brings out the best of Momo. From giving her confidence back we can see how amazing Momo truly is. That little confidence boost from Todoroki and her overcoming it results in. This also leads to her further defining character development. A badass hero! You go, Yaomomo!

OVAs: Momo was on Todoroki’s mind more than once during this episode. From being one of the most capable to send Kaminari to the generator or to being a valuable asset to get out of the rubble situation one thing was clear: Momo was always on his mind

Todoroki was quite impressed with Momo’s approach towards the mock rescue training & in handling himself & Bakugou. In other words, Momo’s scolding towards TodoBaku opened his eyes. It dawns on Todoroki (and Bakugou) that she is right.

Other (smol) cute moments: during the Provisional Licensing Exam when meeting in the Break Room both TodoMomo looked genuinely happy to see each other pass

Before the final exams when Momo was sulking about not being any help for the practical, Todoroki worriedly looks over at her noticing her while others didn’t.

In the end, I feel like I explained as much as I could on why I love both Shouto & Momo. This thread is simply my own opinions. Others who don’t agree are entitled to their own all I ask is pls don’t spread negativity. This is to share my love for the TodoMomo ship
