12 out of 50+ brigades are "Iran-backed", they just say this because of Badr being the majority knowing full-well that Badr deals with both the US and Iran.

The 18 or so Brigades Badr has is what they add to the "Iran-backed" majority

And for the record, some people are actively counting the Iraqi militias in Syria towards this "majority". Those units, some of whom originate from Damascus are NOT part of the PMF let alone part of Baghdad's authority. They are related only in name. Even Sadrists are in Syria.

And by far the funniest part about this entire thing is the fact that Tribal PMF is part of the Popular Mobilization Commission, AND the majority of them have received Coalition backing.

So yeah please keep telling us how PMF is majority "Iran-backed".

If you want to complicate matters even more, then we can talk about Shia-majority PMUs having Sunni battalions. I can think of at least 5 Brigades that are set up like this, but the subject is going off on a tangent.
