If someone asks for help - you listen and you act.

Several weeks ago @NathanKiss tweeted The 5 Types of Diverse TTRPG Streams ( https://bit.ly/2SgnNNN ) accurately pointing out the absurd anti-Blackness in the tabletop and streaming industry, especially at the top.
Yesterday, @LysaPenrose of the @DMsGuild quote tweeted out to her 12K following that she had complex feelings about said post. Mostly agreeing but talking over the Black voice that brought it up, centering the discussion about her feelings, then blocking @NathanKiss.
After being confronted by several people she deleted the QT and apologized, however not to Nathan who remained blocked until he continued to tweet her asking for a public apology. A public apology that never came.
Later that day, Nathan received this from Lysa ( https://bit.ly/34fbJ4V ), a private explanation for her behavior followed by threatening to block him if he continues to ask publicly for a public apology.
If you hurt someone, whether it was your intention to or not, apologize and understand that it’s not on the person you hurt to forgive you, it’s on you to learn and grow.

If you hurt someone you don’t get to decide if your apology is enough.
Nathan is asking for a public apology from Lysa to her 12K following for his safety.

I don't know if he'll get it or if anything will come of this but I do know he's had my back more times than I can count and he's asking for help. I'm going to listen and I'm going to act.
Self care is important. Taking care of your physical and mental well being should always be a top priority. Blocking people is normal and healthy. But you can’t use mental health as an excuse for not confronting your friends, your followers, and your own anti-Blackness.
If a Black person tells you that you're being anti-Black and your first reflex is to ignore it, block them, and/or argue - you aren’t listening.

Confront your own racism in all of it's forms. Confront it often and publicly. Confront it. Grow.

Your heart will be better for it.
