I didn’t expect the first day of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month to start like this.

Because Give InKind was created after I lost my daughter to stillbirth, this month is always special to us here at Give InKind. (1/8)
But today, pregnancy loss is front and center in the media - and since the internet isn’t always a kind place, it’s turning into an extra difficult day for the 1 in 4 women that have experienced pregnancy loss. (2/8)
It’s other people, questioning how we choose to grieve - and this is not unique to pregnancy loss. Statements like “it’s been long enough”, “everything happens for a reason”, (3/8)
or “you should keep these private moments to yourself” are felt deeply by anyone who has ever been on the receiving end of unhelpful advice when they’re in the throes of grief. (4/8)
“On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.” - @chrissyteigen (5/8)
We got through it by creating Give InKind, and today we wanted to share more of that story with you. What it felt like for our friends and family to not know how to support us from around the country. (6/8)
How we channeled our grief into creating something that is helping so many people, every single day. (7/8)
I’m sharing my story today, like so many other families are. I hope you’ll watch and share yours too. Because you’re not alone, and together we can help break the silence around pregnancy loss.

With love and kindness,
@LauraGiveInKind (8/8)
