Honestly, why can't we just admit life begins at conception & some people believe not all human lives deserve legal protection? That would be far more honest.
Throughout human history, most cultures did not respect life universally until Christianity came. Many cultures did not value lives outside the tribe or that of imperfect newborns like adult tribe members. In Rome & Greece, exposing unwanted newborns was normal, for example.
Those wanting legal abortion can simply admit that some human lives don't have the same value. They can then stop using euphemisms. As much as Judith Jarvis Thomson's "A Defense of Abortion" is wrong, it at least admits the biological facts, unlike other pro-abortion arguments.
