Pansexuality and bisexuality: a short thread made by a very tired bisexual

Let's start with definitions.

Bisexuality: "the quality or characteristic of being sexually attracted not exclusively to people of one particular gender"

Pansexuality: "not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender or gender identity".

A way of seeing this is that for pansexuals gender is irrelevant to attraction whereas with bisexuals it does come to the equation

In conclusion bisexuality is the attraction to two or more genders and pansexuality attraction regardless of gender

The big problem with this is when people define either of those terms with the biphobic and transphobic definiton (this definition is that bisexual are only attracted to only cis men and women)

This definition 1st; erases the real one written in the bisexual manifesto, 2nd; also erases the conception that trans men are men and trans women are women and 3rd; defines pansexuality as the attraction to cis, non-binary and trans people.s

So, when people define bisexuality as that, it creates a wave of misconceptions.

Always remember that attraction is not something you choose and saying things like "pansexuals doesn't exist" is literally forcing the person to pretend they have a sexual orientation based on gender wich completely erases that part of their sexual identity.

Pansexual, bisexual and trans people are valid !!!
