PM @ImranKhanPTI interview:

There is more to it than meets the eyes. Imran is not as blunt & straightforward as he often likes to be portrayed. He has been under the prying eyes of media ever since 1977 & he has handled his fame & dignity & status with a royal finesse (n)
It is not a mean feat to captain a team of Pakistani cricket players for a decade. You need much more than aura & glamor & even hard work to maintain your captaincy.

Moving on from cricket, he is the ONLY politician who remained in opposition for 22 years. Do not forget (n)
that doing opposition in a country like Pakistan teaches you more about certain power realities & ground situation than a 5 year stint at Prime Ministership.

So, do you still think he was just being his usual “straightforward-self” when he said “DG ISI ki kya jurrat k wo” ? (n)
I think it is a veiled & firm warning to certain people within the system not to mess with him. He said it in so many words that the mafia can blackmail & pressurise institutions like Army, Judiciary & NAB BUT they cannot blackmail him who knows them fully well (n)
The mafia wants Imran out because he knows how hollow are their threats of street agitation. At the same time, IK’s challenge is to shore up the “powerful” ones around him NOT TO BLINK FIRST.
So, at the moment, it is Imran Khan who is standing between the Deal & the Mafia (n)
He even motivated them by saying “agar hum ye pressure/blackmailing bardasht kr gye to aagey acha time aaye ga”

Thus, Imran is fighting at two fronts: against the mafia (opposing team) & also against the fearfulness of his own team members. However, this is not new for him (n)
As they say “Umr guzri hae isi dasht ki sayyahi main - Have spent a life time traversing these plains” - He will Inshallah handle this situation like a true leader: Courageous & Dignified.
