A thread on feminism:

It& #39;s bad enough to get one& #39;s first letter from @AARP but when it& #39;s addressed to "Julia Caruso" when your name is Julia Carreon is https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤬" title="Gesicht mit Symbolen über dem Mund" aria-label="Emoji: Gesicht mit Symbolen über dem Mund">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤬" title="Gesicht mit Symbolen über dem Mund" aria-label="Emoji: Gesicht mit Symbolen über dem Mund">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤬" title="Gesicht mit Symbolen über dem Mund" aria-label="Emoji: Gesicht mit Symbolen über dem Mund">.

I kept my own name at marriage. I do not hyphenate it. Heck, I won& #39;t even go by Mrs. Caruso at the boys& #39; school.

There is literally not a single legal or personal artifact in existence where I am Caruso.

2/
Even our annual family x-cards (for which we are infamous) are signed "Julia Carreon, Chris Caruso & boys."

So the question is: Where oh where did @AARP get this name from?

3/
I don& #39;t know.

But it& #39;s yet another infuriating example of patriarchy in society, where women are encouraged or expected to defer to men.

4/
I stand against it.

(Don& #39;t @ me that this is slam against women who have taken their husband& #39;s name. It& #39;s not. I obvi believe EVERY woman has the right to do whatever she wants.)

End.
