I don't have 1 boss story that relates to Josh D'Amato but I can tell you with accuracy.

Anytime any boss/supervisor attempts to break that wall between supervisor/friend, that supervisor is ALWAYS up to some bullshit. Real shady, sneaky back stabby bullshit.
If the supervisor is on the other end of the spectrum and just a plain asshole, you already know he is on his bullshit and you do you best to steer clear. You refuse to open up about your life and you prevent giving that asshole ammo to use against you.
The friend supervisor is ALWAYS on his bullshit. So you see Josh the Supervisor and he asks what you are doing this weekend. Your guard is down and you be like, "shit..chilling, watching movies and blaze up" you say it cause Josh is cool as fuck and he wouldn't say anything
to you...YET.

Now he has that info, he slowly looks at your friend group from afar. He knows who you hang with, who you talk to more, he learns all the little drama at work.

2 weeks later..drug test. You got popped.

Josh the supervisor comes up to you and cries in your face
"Look man, I'm sorry but we gotta let you go. But you can add my name to your resume and I'll recommend you to any job, call me if you need anything"

But Josh be on his bullshit. He lost an employee and now Josh gotta rehire someone else at 9k per hire.

So you look for work
using Josh as a reference, other jobs call Josh.

And Josh DRAAAAAAGGS your name. He don't give a fuck about you.

2, 3, 4 months you can't get work.

Until one day, you stop listening Josh in your app.

Ring ring, you got a interview. Now you got a job.
If everyone loves the overly friendly boss/supervisor...you better guard yourself more than you think.

They be on that bullshit more than you think.
Note : Nobody is hired at 9k.

But the average employee costs a business roughly 8-9k for job ads, promos, drug tests, training, uniforms, etc.

That is why there is a weird 3 month hold before you get benefits. Cause if you leave in that time, they don't have to invest in you
Note: Not saying every good supervisor is on their bullshit.

But every good supervisor is as guarded with their life as you are.

They care about you and motivate you to do better.

But they also aren't asking you for beers and commiserate anytime soon.
