So when this album came out I wasn't a Dexys or Kevin Rowland fan at all #TimsTwitterListeningParty

I'd obviously heard the hits, and also had a friend who'd repeatedly played me "This Is What She's Like" in the mid-80s to no avail #TimsTwitterListeningParty

But when this came out, there was so much weird press around it, and that sleeve, and I worked in Reckless Records in Soho and we got an advanced promo and I put it on #TimsTwitterListeningParty

"It's OK. It's gonna be better from now on. Listen, this is what we are gonna do…" #TimsTwitterListeningParty

From the first moments of that opening spoken word intro to 'The Greatest Love of All' I was completely entranced #TimsTwitterListeningParty

I think all my colleagues thought I had totally lost the plot, but it really spoke to me #TimsTwitterListeningParty

Everyone was so cruel about it at the time, but I just don't think it is like any other album I'd ever heard. It's totally unique. #TimsTwitterListeningParty

We used to shut Reckless Records in Soho at 7pm, and I'd sometimes put this album on at 6:45 pm. 19 times out of 20 it would drop a hint and clear the shop #TimsTwitterListeningParty

But every twentieth time, someone would 'get it', rush to the counter, ask what it was, and I'd sell a copy. These days I'd have probably swapped social media details with them. "You understand, here's my number…" #TimsTwitterListeningParty

I subsequently went on to delve into the Dexys back (and then future) catalogue, and have been lucky enough to see them live a couple of times now #TimsTwitterListeningParty

Oh my god his voice then on "If not I'll just die" this album is truly one of the greatest OH FUCK now it is the long and winding road #TimsTwitterListeningParty

Paul is the best Beatle, don't @ me, but this is just such a sensational performance of a standard. Kevin just takes every song on this album to another place/level #TimsTwitterListeningParty

This album is just one of the most special raw and emotional things I've ever heard. Like nothing else. I unashamedly love it for ever. #TimsTwitterListeningParty

When I was a kid, my parents used to have loads of Hollies singles, and we used to listen to tapes of them in the car #TimsTwitterListeningParty

I think they are a criminally under-rated band who made great records, and I Can't Tell The Bottom From The Top was a real favourite of mine and I knew it backwards. #TimsTwitterListeningParty

And Kevin here just infused with it a couple of lyric changes and turned it into something else, a whole new dimension, and the SEQUENCING on this album #TimsTwitterListeningParty
