TODAY IS THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION ON AFRICOM!!!

thread.

this summer we saw the governments violent negligence and total lack of care for black americans result in countless deaths. this lead to a resurgence of BLM protests across every state in this country.
u.s police brutality became a global issue and other nations held protests in solidarity with black americans. this pressure forced presidential candidates to pander to citizens with empty talking points offering petty reform as a solution to systemic racialized violence.
the truth is there will never be a democrat or republican candidate who can change this ongoing degradation of black life because it is firmly built into the functionality of this nation state. anti-blackness is the bedrock of america as a business. africans were the first...
product sold that generated enough wealth the make the u.s a global power. the drive for more capital continues to push the u.s to be one of the most imperialist and capitalist nations on the planet. while we centered the experiences of black americans this summer we fail to
demand justice for black folks on the continent who have been subjected to exploitation, militarism, death, and constant extraction of natural resources. AFRICOM (U.S Africa command) is a military operation that has 34 bases in various african countries. they are responsible for
countless deaths, inciting more violence amongst extremists groups and destabilizing governments. WHY WASN’T THIS A TALKING POINT THIS ELECTION? while we protest for black life in america we are simultaneously funding black death in africa with our taxes. its clear the government
and media outlets will never amplify this issue so we at @Blacks4Peace ask that you spend some time today and read about AFRICOM. it launched oct 1st 2008 and for 12 years has gone unnoticed by the public and under reported. please share this and tweet #ShutdownAFRICOM 🙏🏾🖤
