There are two ways to find original ideas to write about: access and revelation.

1) Access happens when you have proprietary information, usually because of your experiences.

2) Revelation happens when you connect public information in new ways, usually because of hard work.
Access and revelation are earned secrets.

The process of being a writer is living a life that helps you find as many of those earned secrets as possible. Usually, they come from the work you do, the information you consume, or the people you spend time with.
“The big secret is that there are many secrets left to uncover. There are still many large white spaces on the map of human knowledge. You can go discover them. So do it. Get out there and fill in the blank spaces.”
